November 4, 2009 not only marks the one-year anniversary of Barack Obama’s presidential election, but it also marks every media person’s favorite day of the year — the day Freddie Roach opens up the Wild Card Gym to the press, allowing them to hound his favorite fighter with questions, stares, and more questions.
Thankfully, it was the perfect day for the media to fill up the Wild Card Gym. For starters, it was warm outside, making the Wild Card hotter than the devil’s scrotum. It was also the day my dumbass decided to put in just an hour’s worth of coins into the meter, knowing that a Manny Pacquiao Media Day takes at least 4 hours to complete — as a result of the guest of honor coming out of his locker room super late, taking the oft-used phrase “Filipino Time” to a whole new level.
But despite the heat, the waiting, the overwhelming throng of reporters and media inside the gym, the ridiculous amount of Manny Pacquiao supporters in the parking lot waiting for a mere glimpse of the boxing king, and the sexy Tecate girls walking about with their marmalones jiggling around like JELL-O pudding in an 8.7 magnitude earthquake, I still managed to stay focused and bask in the glory of Manny Pacquiao’s endless charm, gratitude, and devotion to making everyone in the room feel special. He spoke with all the media, posed for all the cameras, and entertained with his superhuman speed.
Some said this Media Day was as big (if not bigger) than the Media Day when he fought Oscar De La Hoya, which means only one thing — 1. Freddie needs a bigger gym and 2. Expect Miguel Cotto to get knocked the fuck out.

hey I was there too…in a black laker t-shirt… & I was still burnin like a hot summer day! filipino time it was for manny, AGAIN! I was supposed to be on duty at 2pm but ya right! didn’t make that til later. but yes I’d have to agree, MANNY IS GOING TO KNOCK COTTO THE FK OUT!!! & tecate girls were hot. they could of used the shorter girl’s jugs as speed bags!!!
