For the last six months I’ve been watching an HBO “highlight” video of Ricky Hatton getting knocked out by Manny Pacquiao. And frankly, I’m tired of it.
Yes, Hatton was knocked down twice in the first round. Yes, Hatton was knocked out cold in the second round. It’s a great video to add to Pacquiao’s portfolio, but did everyone really have to watch it more than 350,000 times on YouTube? Was it really necessary to see those punches over and over and over again before Pacquiao’s next fight?
It’s time to move on, folks.
Thankfully, HBO today released a new highlight video of Miguel Cotto’s loss to Pacquiao on Nov. 14:
Oh, we’re talking about Floyd Mayweather, Jr. now? Well, don’t forget how dominant Money looked in his highlight video against Juan Manuel Marquez (but DO forget how Mayweather guided Hatton’s head into the turnbuckle).
Please, just don’t think about Ricky Hatton. That is, until he fights Marquez in 2010.

Mayweather’s open guard style of fighting equals a quick beat down by Manny, IMHO… he fights like he’s on a street corner, and if I learned anything from Cotto fight, Manny is too quick/too powerful/too tactful for that.
Either we are going to see a serious difference in Floyd’s fighting style or he is going to get hammered by Pac-Man.
I hope the latter as I’m tired of hearing him talk about his millions; his mansions, his fan numbers; his PPV deals.
I think Mayweather is why many people forgot about boxing. He’s sleazy. Manny is why people have come back to the sport!
