Since the Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto fight is all locked up, ready to shock the world on November 14, 2009, the only thing left would be the countless amounts of predictions from boxing critics, bloggers, and journalists…even NBA champions.
But the only prediction that actually has some weight to it would be Manny’s longtime trainer, Freddie Roach. Afterall, he did predict the fall of Ricky Hatton to almost the exact round. So what does Freddie Roach have to say about the upcoming fight? He talked to Primera Hora:
“I don’t have anything bad to say about Cotto. I believe that he is an excellent athlete who is always well prepared for his fights, but I trust in the abilities of Manny and I believe that we are going to knock Cotto out,” Roach said, “Without a doubt there will be a war. Manny and Miguel have many similarities in fighting styles, but the versatility of Manny will be too much for Miguel.”

im a boxing fanatic. pacman vs cotto is going to be better than pacman vs delahoya,hattons fights. simply because both fighters are on their peek of their abilities. cotto have to work on his counter punching cuz manny would be just too fast going in and out. manny will knock cotto out with uppercuts cuz cotto is always open for one. manny round 6 or 7.

Manny is the best of the best among the rest. Cotto is to slow for manny. Yes he might counter punch manny with 8-10 punches. But after his 10th counter punch he’s history on the 3rd round just like Ricky Hatton RIP on the floor.
The pacman is FAST, powerful and supremely confident but Cotto has the heart of a warrior. This will be a true test for both fighters. I can’t wait for this fight. I believe that the Pacman will win.

prking is right. manny will get tired in the later round because cotto is just too big for him. manny’s power will not make an impact on cotto’s bigger build. manny needs a lucky punch in the earlier round where he is still fresh. otherwise he will run out of gas.i’m a filipino and a pacman fan. this is just an observation.

I am a pacman fan but I think manny will have a hard time. He need to pray more and focus more on his practice and forget philippine showbiz and politics for a while.
pacman will win this one. no offense to cotto but he is just too slow for manny. just watch how cotto cocks his arm before he throws his oh so favorite left hook. before cotto could land a punch on manny, the latter has already thrown 2-3 combinations. i dont see cotto winning especially in the early rounds since he is a slow starter. but if the fight goes the distance, we might see a good fight.
