Just heard this drop in the news: Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame wants to sing the Philippines National Anthem at Manny Pacquiao’s next fight. I think this would be dope in so many levels.
1. She’s hot.
2. She’s hot.
3. She’s a Pinay…and she’s hot.
Hopefully, Manny picks her since he has the last say in this.
Plus, I wasn’t really feelin’ Martin Nievera’s version of Lupang Hinirang. And I heard homeboy doesn’t even speak a lick of Tagalog? Say word? Is this true?
Anyway, this one was one my favorites:
Martin Nievera speaks tagalog… He speaks it all the time….
Yeah, I wasn’t crazy for his rendition either.
But I know he does speak Tagalog. When I met him he spoke both English and Tagalog. I heard he just doesn’t like to speak Tagalog. Don’t know why.
That would be interesting to hear Nicole sing in tagalog (Philippine Anthem). She would be the best candidate ever!!!!!!
Regarding Martin, he speaks Tagalog fluently, but since he grew up here in the Bay Area, he’s comfortable talking in english. Sometimes he speaks taglish
eh maarte yon si Martin
I hope Nicole Scherzinger or the Filipino from Black Eye Peas sing the anthem for MP next fight
hmmm.. i’d much prefer a somewhat more “underground” pinay… nicole is hot… but there are MUCH hotter, and MUCH better pinay singers than her… she’s just mainstream.
She deserves a shot being that as an American and Pinay… she has done much to bring Asian American’s into a spotlight that isnt always Martial Arts related. I think it would be an honor for her to do it and I think she would do justice well for US
[...] Pacquiao will star in a new action comedy movie entitled Wapakman with singer Nicole Sherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls and WWE wrestler [...]
I grew up here in CA and went back to the Philippines and I speak both languages fluently. It’s more of a comfort level. There are times that when I want to make my point and it’s easier for me to speack in english. If it is more casual it’ll be Taglish and sometimes pure tagalog.
I appreciate those filipino who speak tagalog at the same time english in the right place and the right time. Speak tagalog to a filipino then speak english to non-filipino.
I like Martin version. Ganun nman talga ang tempo ng Lupang Hinirang!
