Most will argue that boxing, when compared to the UFC, features too many tune-up fights. They argue that boxing lacks bouts that have the best fighting the best. We don’t agree because, for starters, we follow Manny Pacquiao who hasn’t fought a tune-up fight in quite a long time. And with the new Showtime Super Six World Boxing Clasic, it seems the argument of UFC being better than boxing is growing thinner by the minute.
Since his breakout fight with Marco Antonio Barrera, Manny and his team managed to schedule fights with the best. With the upcoming Miguel Cotto matchup, it seems Manny will continue with his rampage across all weight classes. To showcase the enormity of Manny’s reign, here is a review of his past five matchups:
NEXT OPPONENT:
SPEED
pacquiao – 100 mph
cotto – 20 mph
I never thought UFC was better than boxing.
Speed + Power(Manny) = K.O (Cotto)
If Cotto will have the same speed like PACMAN.. i think cotto can b a pound for pound also.. but if you(cotto) dont have that “the flash” thing? better back out now.. hehhee
ufc is 2 men fighting in the ring
boxing is 2 artist fighting in the ring
ufc is 2 men fighting in the ring
boxing is 2 artists fighting in the ring
Cotto to win this gotta get inside early and land some true bombs…if it goes past 4 rounds haha then pacs got his timing and such itll be a massacre for pacman.
Big pacfan but no bias on this
Pac kos Cotto round 6
titirisin ni manny si cotto!!!! hahaha!!
UFC IS SOO WACK BOXING TEST CONDITIONING, HEART, STRENGTH, DETERMINATION UFC ASK 1 QUESTION CAN U TAKE A PUNCH… BOXING 10 ROUNDS OF ART UFC ON THE OTHER HAND IS 10 SECOND OF FIGHTING N THE REST ON THE FLOOR HUGGIN EACH OTHER… MANNY FINISHES COTTO EARLY K.O. 3 ROUND
PACQUIAO..
pacman will KO cotto in 4 rounds..
Pacquiao have the speed and power so he will win he will play cotos face like ddlahoya..
BOXING IS A LOT DANGEROUS THAN UFC….80% OF FIGHTERS DIE IN BOXING THAN UFC…BOXING IS A KILLER SPORT! IF YOU REALLY WANT A MAN TO MAN FIGHT WATCH BOXING!
Here’s how I hope things go: I hope Pacman beats Cotto. Then JMM KO’s Mayweather (though I don’t think it will happen) to shut him up. Finally, Pacman fights JMM for a third time, and silences all the critics.
That would be ideal for me.
Dunno why some of you decided to compare boxing to MMA here, but…
Boxing is a great great sport, but not a true complete combat sport, and Pac is the only thing boxing has going for it right now. MMA is the more complete combat sport. Even the best boxer would only be a “one dimensional” and easy target in MMA.
Rope-a-Dope doesn’t work when someone can shoot a double leg take down, slam you on your head, and ground and pound away. Rope-a-Dope looks great when deflecting punches padded by 16 oz pillows, but with 4 oz gloves, those punches become potential KO’s.
Manny is the fresher fighter
Cotto is the more worn out
Manny TKO 9th round
“…you guys gotta kiddin’ me, Pac Man the Mexicutioner?’ Cotto’s challenging?’-'you better make up your mind before Pac Man finishes you worst than Hatton”…for Cotto’ prepare w/ the strecthcher & EMS outside the ring for you to go straight to emergency”!!!!
Cotto is a great boxer, he has the power and speed but he is facing a stronger and faster boxer who can take punches. If Cotto will stand up toe to toe with Manny, he will be knocked out on the 8th.
Im just so looking forward to see this fight!
you all damn right ! Cotto train as hard as you can ,prepare as you can face not only storm but a strong as a hurricane and the knock out punch will be as good as torpedo..
